JENKINS, Abigail

Research interests

Abigail is interested in all areas of soil research the NSW DPI undertakes with respect to its communication within government and outside to the broader public. She has been involved in projects covering soil biology, soil erosion and remediation, non formal adult learning and monitoring tools for soil health, acid sulfate soils, biochar, compost use in agriculture and soil carbon.

Background

Abigail has worked in soils and communications since 1997. She has produced a number of publications and tools and presented at conferences on soils communication approaches.
In the past I have written this about my role and interest: “Abigail Jenkins is a self confessed 'ped head' passionate about sharing information about soils. As Soil development officer with NSW DPI's Soil Unit her role involves making sure the most relevant and up to date info about soils is accessible for those that need it. This includes editing a quarterly newsletter called All the Dirt and coordinating monthly soils webinars”
