From the chief executive
From the Autumn/Winter 2010 edition of Bush Telegraph Magazine.

This issue of Bush Telegraph contains a snapshot of our performance across a range of long-term social, environmental and economic indicators. For the first time since the inception of Forests NSW sustainability reporting ten years ago, our annual reporting has been combined into a single document. This comprehensive report records our financial performance annually, as well as transparently documenting performance trends over time. It also contains commentary on areas of achievement or those in which we need to improve.
For me, one of the biggest achievements highlighted in this report is meeting the high standards of the rigorous WorkCover NSW self-insurers audit. Our second consecutive year of success, it underscores our commitment to improving safety performance.
Of course this issue of our magazine also gives further insight into the diversity of our people and the work they do. We have welcomed a new member to our softwoods team all the way from South Africa, while saying farewell after almost 50 years to a member of the team in Bathurst.
The long-term nature of our planning and management is also highlighted in stories on power pole research, fire research and silvicultural technique Australian Group Selection.
I hope you enjoy this issue.
Nick Roberts - Chief Executive
