State forests on show

From the Summer 2007 edition of Bush Telegraph Magazine.

Keen outdoor enthusiasts flocked to the inaugural Ultimate Outdoors Adventure Show to discover destinations, activities and new equipment for their next adventure into nature.

The event replaces the previous Fishing Show and Outdoors Expo and was held at Sydney Olympic Park.

Acting events manager, Lella Gardner said the event was perfect for Forests NSW to promote the wonders of our State forests in NSW and provide information on a range of recreational activities that our forests have to offer.

“Visitors learnt they could enjoy bushwalking, camping, picnicking, mountain bike riding, canoeing, fishing, four wheel driving and lots more in forests. Best of all visitors were happy to know their dogs are welcomed to enjoy these activities with them too.”

“The new edition of the Best Bush Map was on display, with visitors taking the time to plan their next camping holiday amongst the trees,” Lella said.

A real live native forest garden, full of flowering gums, kangaroo paws and seedlings, was landscaped to give a real outdoors atmosphere.

NSW DPI also exhibited, providing visitors with all their recreational fishing rules and regulations needs. Fishing is another fun activity that can be enjoyed in State forests.
