New recreation map for NSW
From the Winter 2007 edition of Bush Telegraph Magazine.
An updated guide to recreational opportunities on all public lands in NSW has been released.
The Best Bush Map has been jointly published by the State Government’s land management agencies – Forests NSW, Department of Lands and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service – along with Tourism NSW.
NSW Minister for Primary Industries, Ian Macdonald, said the revised Best Bush Map was a handy glovebox guide for anyone who enjoyed the great outdoors.
“This is a map of NSW that shows national parks, State forests and Crown reserves, along with other attractions of interest for travellers including the location of local visitor information centres,” Minister Macdonald said.
“On the reverse, there is a matrix that gives more detailed information on the major locations, including popular local recreational pursuits, the facilities available and contact telephone numbers.”
Mr Macdonald said that with nearly 300 areas across New South Wales highlighted in the matrix, it was a great time to get out of the city and explore.
“There are millions of hectares of public bushland in NSW, with fantastic opportunities for everyone. Whether you are seeking solitude on a mountain top, tracks for mountain bikes or oceanside camp grounds, there’s a site for everyone.”
Copies of the Best Bush Map can be purchased over the telephone from Forests NSW information centre on Ph: 1300 655 687 or 9871 3377. RRP $6.95 plus postage.
An updated Best Bush Map is now available – a handy glovebox guide for those who like to explore State forests, national parks and Crown reserves in NSW.
