Bronze award for NSW DPI’s Royal Easter Show stand

From the Winter 2008 edition of Bush Telegraph Magazine.

Information  about forestry was once again included in NSW Department of Primary Industries  (DPI) stand at the 2008 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

NSW DPI events manager, Kylie Davies, said the theme of ‘the science behind  primary industries’ proved a hit with 30000 show goers who called in over the  14 day event.

“It was also flattering to be independently presented with a Bronze  Award from the field of high quality sponsor stands,” Kylie said.

“We focused on the science behind growing Asian vegetables, clean coal  technologies, carbon storage in forests and the management of sustainable  fisheries.

“And given the significance of the outbreak of the Equine Influenza in  2007, we also looked at the science behind fighting exotic disease outbreaks.”

Kylie said NSW DPI was a Grand Champion sponsor of this year’s show,  which included an association for Forests NSW with the woodchop competition.

“The woodchop is one of the iconic show events and we were thrilled to  get messages about sustainable timber production in NSW across to the  audience.”
