LandLearn NSW up and running

From the Winter 2008 edition of Bush Telegraph Magazine.

The 2008 Sydney Royal Easter Show proved the perfect  place to introduce the new primary industries focused schools education  program, LandLearn NSW, to teachers and students.

LandLearn NSW aims to build the capacity of teachers and students to  participate in informed discussion and decision-making about the production,  consumption and management of primary products and natural resources in NSW.

Highlighting the need for sustainable practices in primary industries  and natural resource management is a key feature of the program.

“We want teachers and students to reflect on the role primary industries  play in everyday life, both now and into the future,” said general manager  (agriculture) with the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of NSW, Sue White.

The RAS has joined NSW Farmers and NSW Department of Primary Industries  to bring LandLearn to NSW.

The first step has been the development of a web portal which introduces  visitors to primary industries and highlights current primary industry focused  schools education programs, products and services.

Take a look at the LandLearn NSW website at www.landlearnnsw.org.au,  where you can join the LandLearn NSW network, find resources or link up to a  course.
