Planting review team formed
From the Winter 2008 edition of Bush Telegraph Magazine.
As a consequence of the expanded establishment program and in recognition of the difficult planting conditions experienced during recent drought years, Forests NSW has established a project team to review its plantation establishment program.
Forests NSW acting planning and environment manager, Jason Molkentin, said the team was reviewing the practices that influence plantation establishment. Key practices being considered are site preparation, nursery stock, planting and post planting activity.
“With the level of investment involved with such a large program, the diversity of establishment sites and Forests NSW obligation for high level service provision to external investors, it is imperative that a comprehensive and co-ordinated plan is developed to ensure success,” Jason said.
