Artistic merit tackles graffiti
From the Autumn/Winter 2009 edition of Bush Telegraph Magazine.

Graffiti on public amenities is a common problem, and State forest facilities are no exception. Recently, graffiti appeared on a toilet block in the Swan’s Crossing recreation area on the mid north coast. The graffiti was brought to the attention of FNSW by a community member who had dealt with the problem in an innovative and artistic manner. ‘Donna’ submitted a photo of her graffiti-busting mural with a supporting poem - thanks Donna for your community spirit and efforts!
This is Swan’s Crossing,
A camper’s retreat.
Families that come here
Try to keep it all neat.
But on this wall, there was a scrawl.
After being given a wash, it made it just faint,
So I decided to give it a scene with some paint.
This is what happened …and was done by me.
It’s only acrylic, can be washed off you see.
Despite this, I hope it can stay
As others have said that they like it this way.
