This guide is designed to help farmers, advisers, researchers and students identify the most common annual, biennial and perennial summer-growing weeds in the cropping areas of southern Australia. It includes descriptions and photographs, for both seedlings and mature plants, of approximately 40 weeds - seedling descriptions and photographs are important for enabling the identification of early growth stages to ensure effective and timely control.
The information on each weed includes a map of Australia indicating the distribution and frequency with which that weed occurs in the different states, and a coloured bar calendar to indicate the months during which the weed is likely to be present as either seedlings / new growth or as mature plants.
This 'Ute Guide' is designed to be easily used in the paddock. It measures 15 cm wide by 10 cm long, and is fully laminated in a spiral-bound format.
