Rural Support Workers
NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) Rural Support Workers (formerly known as Drought Support Workers) provide immediate personal support, basic information and referral to other appropriate services.
With the reduction in areas under exceptional circumstances in NSW, the Rural Support Program is being refocused on helping farm families, farm business and rural communities better prepare and survive climatic shocks such as droughts and other climatic events. The key to this is developing resilience.
While the program will be moving from a reactive response to a more developmental role, Rural Support Workers will be available to help with enquiries.
