Murray Valley Winegrape Committee
The Murray Valley (New South Wales) Winegrape Industry Development Committee is established as an agricultural industry development committee under the Agricultural Industry Development Act 1990 of Victoria. The Committee is authorised to operate extra-territorially in NSW for winegrape growers and is recognised by regulation under the NSW Agricultural Industry Services Act 1998. The Committee is established for growers who grow winegrapes in the Murray Valley region of New South Wales and Victoria, and its functions are:
- to support region-specific winegrape research, or multipurpose winegrape research where alternative funding is not available, and the development of improved vineyard management practices; and
- to obtain and analyse relevant market information and disseminate it to winegrape growers.
The Committee’s services are funded by a compulsory charge on growers.
