Riverina Citrus

Riverina Citrus (formerly MIA Citrus Fruit Promotion Marketing Committee) was constituted as a marketing committee under the Marketing of Primary Products Act 1983 under the MIA Citrus Fruit Promotion Marketing Order 1998. The Marketing Order expired on 18 March 2002, and the Committee was reconstituted on the same day under the Agricultural Industry Services (Riverina Citrus) Regulation 2002 as an Agricultural Industry Services Committee.

The functions of the Committee are to:

  • contribute to the MIA and Tri-State fruit fly eradication campaign;
  • facilitate the adoption of orchard management practices;
  • disseminate industry information and citrus production forecasting in the MIA;
  • initiate promotional activities for citrus fruit grown in the MIA; and
  • facilitate market access to new and existing export markets.
