Export and investment

NSW has strong biosecurity and food safety credentials and is well-placed to capitalise on growing global demand by leveraging our reputation in key markets.  This will increase exports and attract international investment.

The DPI promotes the State’s agricultural capability, informs investment and identifies new markets and industries. By providing input to missions, delegations and agriculture policy, at both state and federal levels, the DPI works to drive growth within the agribusiness sector and enable NSW to take advantage of opportunities in the global market.

Missions and delegations

DPI, along with industry partners and other government representatives, works collaboratively to present, promote and market the strength of NSW primary industries through:

  • outbound trade and investment missions
  • in and outbound trade and investment delegations.

These missions and delegations attract and generate productive agribusiness export, inward investment, and research collaboration and commercialisation opportunities in NSW, in turn removing barriers to trade and strengthening our export capabilities.

By working with industry, research and government partners, NSW DPI will expand export opportunities to key international markets and attract direct foreign investment to NSW. Together we will increase jobs, boost our economy and position NSW for success.

DPI will work with industry and government to:

  1. Prioritise international markets and sectors
  2. Grow agribusiness exports
  3. Attract agribusiness investment
  4. Promote NSW agribusiness
  5. Build partnerships
