Cotton pest management guide 2008-09
Despite several smaller than average seasons, all in a row, the cotton industry continues to break new ground in pest management.
The 2008/09 season sees the introduction of new techniques for monitoring and determining thresholds for cotton aphid and silverleaf whitefly.
Using IPM strategies that value the contribution of beneficials, incorporate economic thresholds and consider the influence of rotation crops, weed hosts and remnant vegetation will assist in controlling production costs.
