Submissions to the Independent Review of the Gene Technology (GM Crop Moratorium) Act 2003

An independent review of the Gene Technology (GM Crop Moratorium) Act 2003 was announced by Minister for Primary Industries, Ian Macdonald, on 16 July 2007. An information paper inviting submissions was available on the Department of Primary Industries’ website. This document outlined the purpose, scope, terms of reference and process of the review. The deadline for submissions to the Review Panel was 31 August 2007.

The Review Panel received 1,365 submissions. The information paper inviting submissions encouraged respondents to make their submissions publicly available and advised that unless marked "CONFIDENTIAL" all submissions would be treated as public documents and may be placed on the Department’s website.
