Guidelines for the development of controlled environment horticulture

Guidelines for controlled environment horticulture cover
Guidelines for the development of controlled environment horticulture is a planning tool developed by NSW Department of Primary Industries in conjunction with a diverse range of stakeholders in the greenhouse and hydroponics industry in NSW.

The greenhouse horticulture industry, which is more accurately described as controlled environment horticulture, is one of the fastest growing horticulture industries in the State. While it is one of the most sustainable and productive intensive industries, it is not well understood. Greenhouse enterprises are being developed in close proximity to urban areas and this interface with residential areas raises many issues for growers, planners and residents alike.

The purpose of this publication is to provide a consistent framework for industry to meet maximum production efficiency and sustainability focused on minimising off-site impacts and meeting community needs.
