Description Leaf: medium large, upfolded with slightly wavy edges, shiny, pubescent when young.
Shape: ovate, roundish, tip mucronate, base truncate.
Margin: often lobed or misshapen, coarsely or acutely serrate.
Stipules: small, narrow, inconspicuous.
Shoot: two-year wood dull red brown.
Vigour Similar to, but more vigorous than, MM.106.
Propagation Produces well in stool beds.
Resistance Collar rot and woolly aphid resistant.
Uses Adapted to heavy soils with few losses from collar rot. Well anchored. Used in USA for spur-type varieties, and in replant land. Very productive stock. Can be used with precocious new varieties (for example, Fuji, Gala, Pink Lady) on shallow, less fertile, soils.
