Origin: M. floribunda 821 × Rome Beauty crosses. Sown Urbana 1958, first selection released 1970, PRI (Universities of Purdue, Rutgers and Illinois Co-operative scab resistant breeding program), USA.
Tree: Moderate vigour, spreading.
Disease status: Scab resistant, moderate tolerance to fireblight and mildew.
Chilling requirement: Medium.
Blossom and
pollination:
Early–mid season.
Abas, Jerseymac, Cripps Pink.
Fruit shape: Medium flat conical.
Skin and
flesh:
Bright red over 60–80% of surface.
Attractive, pale greenish flesh; crisp, juicy but a bit tart.
Harvest and
yield:
About a week after Earliblaze or 2 weeks before Jonathan.
Storage: Short.
