Animal Welfare Code of Practice - Commercial pig production

This Code outlines the principles that everyone involved in commercial pig production must use to protect the welfare of the animals in their care.

Commercial pig producers in NSW will be expected to conduct themselves in accordance with this Code of Practice and thus demonstrate their commitment and concern for the welfare of the animals in their care.

This Code has been prepared in consultation with Australian Pork Limited, NSW Farmers, RSPCA NSW and other people and organisations involved in the industry.

It is also endorsed by the NSW Animal Welfare Advisory Council.

The Code became enforceable on 12 March 2010.
