Standards for exhibiting animals during temporary removals in NSW

The document Standards for exhibiting animals during temporary removals in NSW - Exhibited Animals Protection Act 1986 is pursuant to Clause 8(1) of the Exhibited Animals Protection Regulation 2005.

These standards apply to all animal display establishment licence holders who cause or permit an animal to be removed from its enclosure. Some sections apply only to animals that are temporarily removed from the animal display establishment premises for the purposes of display and these are marked with a double asterisk (**).

These standards must be used in conjunction with all other standards and policies prepared by the NSW Department of Primary Industries. The standards within this publication have been primarily developed to ensure the welfare of animals kept for exhibit purposes but cover a range of areas including psychological and physical animal welfare; educational value of exhibits; public safety; guidelines for new or existing displays; and legal effect.
