primefact cover
Primefact Number: 736    Edition: First edition    Released/reviewed: 01 Feb 2008

Disease and production loss from internal parasites are one of the biggest health problems of Australian sheep.

NSW Department of Primary Industries, CSIRO and Rural Lands Protection Boards (RLPBs), with assistance from others, have developed worm control programs for various parts of New South Wales.

These programs have continued to evolve since they were first launched - WormKill 1984, DrenchPlan 1985, FarWestWorm 1998.

This Primefact covers the following topics:

  • WestWorm and FarWestWorm programs
  • Property and worm management in western NSW
  • Biology of sheep worms
  • Integrated parasite management
  • Drenches and drench resistance
  • Goats
