Livestock Contractors Footrot Certification Scheme
Even though the whole of New South Wales is now gazetted as Control or Protected Area status for footrot, the disease still persists in some areas of NSW. Eradication programs need to continue to ensure the last remaining pockets are cleaned up.
Flock owners are encouraged to use a registered Footrot Contractor to assist them in their eradication program. Footrot Contractors work under an approved veterinarian who is responsible for the initial diagnosis and for supervision of the control and eradication program. Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act, footrot control contractors must be registered by the Veterinary Surgeons Board.
This Primefact lists the footrot contractors that are registered with the Livestock Contractors Footrot Certification Scheme by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of NSW, as at August 2006.
