Red imported fire ants

Fire Ants, Solenopsis invicta, are serious pests which have been detected in Queensland, Australia. Red Fire Ant has not been detected anywhere in NSW. However to make sure any detections of fire ant made by the public are immediately reported to NSW DPI, the pest has been made notifiable under the Plant Diseases Act 1924. This means that you have a legal obligation to report suspected red fire ant infestations as soon as possible.
