Weed management: Understanding weed management in NSW

Weed management

NSW Department of Primary Industries and the Department of Environment and Climate Change have prepared an overview of the various weed management strategies currently in use in NSW and how they are applied to a variety of situations. All weed management in NSW can be classified into one of four categories:

  • Prevention
  • Eradication
  • Containment
  • Asset protection.

These four categories can be thought of as the invasion process of a weed species from arrival through to widespread establishment.
