Distribution and abundance maps for priority weed species within NSW

NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) has collected weed distribution and abundance information from local government in 2007 and 2010.

Local government noxious weed officers supplied DPI with distribution and abundance information on priority weed species that threaten the environment, production and human health.

The following weeds were surveyed;

  • weeds that have been targeted to be excluded from NSW. These species can be found in NSW and national weed alert lists.
  • weeds already established in NSW. These species are monitored to inform actions that aim to contain their spread to new areas and to reduce their impacts on the environment, production and human health.
