- Assisting participants to consider how they can manage climate risk.
- To take participants through a process of determining their water use requirements, the capacity of their water supplies, and use this information to develop a farm water plan.
- To make participants aware of the primary determinants of water quality, and how to maintain water quality.

- Investigate local historic climate data.
- Look at climate change and future predictions.
- Examine the impact of climate change on agriculture.
- Identify what climate risk means for current farming systems.
- Determine water use requirements on farm.
- Measure the capacity of on farm water storages.
- Assess the reliability and availability of supply and the importance of maximising water capacity.
- Identify water deficits and opportunities for improvement.
- Recognise water quality parameters and issues.
- Examine water supply construction and maintenance techniques.
- Gain knowledge of legislation and licensing requirements.
- Prepare a farm water plan.

Participants are provided with a course manual and a DPI drought recovery guide. This course is delivered indoors. |
