Name: Planning for pest management
Description: This course is designed for land managers and natural resource managers involved in weed or vertebrate pest control.
Cost: $320 GST free.
Course aims: To assist participants to develop skills in developing a regional plan of management and monitoring system for pest and weed control.
Learning outcomes:
  • Define the problem
  • Develop a management plan for pest or weed
  • Develop a monitoring system for the plan
Length: 1 day
Course program/structure:
  • The pest in your region - analyse its impacts.
  • Developing aims, objectives, actions and performance indicators - make them relevant and effective.
  • Stakeholders and your plan.
  • Monitoring the success of your plan.
Resources and method of delivery: Participants are provided with course notes.

This course is delivered using indoor instruction.

Accreditation: This course is mapped to the national unit of competency:
  • RTD5401A Define the pest problem in a regional or broader context,
  • RTD5402A Develop a strategy for the management of target pests, and
  • RTD5403A Develop a system for monitoring the pest management strategy.
