Name: International Seed Testing Association seed sampling procedures
Description: A course designed for those wishing to gain practical skills in seed sampling.
Cost: After NSW Government subsidy $640 GST incl.
Course aims: To provide participants with the knowledge and skills in taking and preparing seed samples to comply with ISTA rules.
Learning outcomes:
  • Develop an understanding of the protocols, procedures and activities necessary to sample seed to ISTA standards.
  • Be able to competently sample a seed lot and prepare a composite sample for dispatch to a ISTA seeds testing laboratory.
  • Be aware of and comply with OH&S workplace requirements.

  • Introduction
  • Maximum Seed Lot Size
  • Seed Lot Homogeneity
  • Identifying Seed Lots
  • Sampling Intensity
  • Method of Taking the Primary Sample
  • Blending and Sampling of Composite Samples
  • Completing an OIC Request Form and Labelling the Sample
  • Practical Demonstrations/Practice and Practical Assessment
  • Written Assessment and Evaluation.
Resources and method of delivery:

Participants receive procedural manual.

This course is delivered using indoor and out door instruction.
