Name: Electric fencing
Description: A course for those seeking basic skills in electric fencing.
Cost: $130 GST free. Includes morning tea and manual.
Course aims:
  • Develop basic electric fencing skills
  • Develop an understanding of electric fence design and layout
Learning outcomes:
  • Identify electric fencing system requirements
  • Select a suitable fence design and layout
  • Prepare for fencing operations
  • Construct an electric fence
  • Identify maintenance and safety requirements
Length: Half day

  • Advantages and disadvantages of electric fencing
  • Design and layout options and systems
  • Selecting an energiser
  • Construct permanent and temporary electric fencing
  • Design and installation of earthing systems
  • Maintenance and testing of electric fence systems
  • Safety requirements of electric fencing
Resources and method of delivery:

Participants receive a course manual.

This course is delivered using indoor and outdoor instruction.

Accreditation: This course is mapped to the national unit of competency RTE2201A - Carry out basic electric fencing operations.
