Name: Post and rail fencing
Description: A course for those interested in developing skills in constructing post and rail fences.
Cost: $240
Course aim: To assist participants to construct traditional post and rail fences.
Learning outcomes:
  • Design post and rail fence 
  • Undertake a risk assessment 
  • Erect and cut posts 
  • Cut and construct rails
  • Assemble fence 
Length: 1 day
Course program/structure
  • Fence layout and design 
  • Suitable timbers for post and rail fences
  • OHS and risk assessments 
  • Construction principles for a traditional post and rail fence 
  • Hands-on construction of fence 
Resources and method of delivery: Participants receive course training materials.

This course is delivered mainly outdoors.

Accreditation This course has been mapped to the national unit of competency RTC3209A - Plan and construct conventional fencing.
