An introductory horse handling course for those buying their first horse or who are first horse owners.

  • Introduction

  • Horse handling/riding and care of equipment
  • Drenching, shoeing and general hoof care
  • What to look for when buying a horse
  • Ageing
Resources and method of delivery: Participants are provided with the colour 60 page Horse Agskills publication containing many photos, diagrams and practical tips.
This course is delivered using indoor and outdoor instruction.
Accreditation This course is mapped to the national unit of competency, AHCLSK205A - Handle livestock using basic techniques.
