| Description: | This pracitical 2 day course reviews basic horse handling techniques, general care of horses and equipment required to own a horse. Before mounting the trainers ensure course participants demonstrate a basic understanding of correct techniques. All students will have time mounted with continuous instruction to ensure they are applying the correct principles. Once mounted, course participants will conquer all aspects of seat, hands and heels at a walk before moving on to trot and, if appropriate canter. | ||

| Course aims: | This 2 day course aims to adequately cover basic horse care and handling techniques, equipment required to own a horse as well as provide plenty of hands on time in the saddle to practise the basics of mounting and riding in a structured and safe environment. | ||
| Learning outcomes: | At the completion of this course, participants will have adequate knowledge in the basics of horse handling and general care of horses as well as practical experience in the saddle covering the correct mounting and riding principles at a basic level. | ||

| Resources and method of delivery: | Participants receive a course manual. This course is delivered outside. Horses and all equipment is provided. There will be 2 trainers and maximum of 10 partipants. No assessment. | ||
