Name:	Management of Trunk Disease & Young Vine Decline
Description:	This one day course is for primary production management teams and leading hands involved in pruning and disease control of young vines.
Cost:	This course is registered under the Commonwealth Government's FarmReady program. Eligible primary producers can be reimbursed for the cost of this course. See the FarmReady website for more details. $345 GST incl.
Course aim:	To understand the impact of trunk disease on vineyard health and assets, whilst implementing control measures and evaluating effectiveness.
Learning outcomes:	Understand vine trunk diseases and there effects on vineyards Knowledge of basic vine varieties, structure, function & physiology. Use of Effective prevention, control and eradication techniques. Climatic implications & influence on occurrence, development and treatment of vine disorders and damage. Safe implementation of control strategies and conduct of pruning activities. Maintain workplace records.
Length:	1 Day
Course program/structure:	Incidence and distribution of trunk diseases in NSW. Management of Botryosphaeria Understanding Botryosphaeria in vineyards Managing Botryosphaeria cankers in North American vineyards (what NSW can learn) Healthy plants for vineyard establishment Diseases of planting material or young vines from the soil. Managing Eutypa in vineyards
Resources and method of delivery:	Participants receive course notes and manual. This course is delivered using indoor an outdoor instruction.
Accreditation:	This course has been mapped to the national unit of competency FDFWGGHPVB Hand Prune Vines and FDFWGGVDDB Monitor and Control vine disorders and damage.
