Name: Animal health risk management - Introduction
Description: A workshop to assist participants to develop and implement a disease risk management plan for their farm or enterprise.
Cost:

$250 GST-free. Includes manual.

This course is registered under the Commonwealth Government's FarmReady program. Eligible primary producers can be reimbursed for the cost of this course. See the FarmReady website for more details.

Course aim: To help participants develop a better understanding of disease risk management and implement on-farm biosecurity
Learning outcomes:
  • Describe the concept of risk management in farm planning
  • Identify disease risk areas.
  • Understand disease and its causes.
  • Distinguish between preventing disease entering the property and managing risks on farm.
  • Plan and implement on-farm biosecurity.
  • Develop a risk management plan.

  • Managing the risk of disease.
  • Developing a risk management plan.
Resources and method of delivery: Participants receive a course manual.
This course is delivered indoors.
Accreditation This course is mapped to the following national units of competency: RTE4119A Supervise animal health programs and RTE5104A Develop livestock health and welfare strategies.
