Description:	An introductory heavy horse care and handling course for first-time owners or those thinking of purchasing.
Cost:	After NSW Government subsidy, $280 GST-free.

Course aim:	To develop skills in basic heavy horse care and handling To identify the occupational health and safety (OHS) issues around horses To develop skills in the use of heavy horse handling equipment.
Learning outcomes:	Identify breeds and their characteristics Understand basic horse care and handling Identify hazards and OHS issues Handle heavy horses in harness with implements Prepare for showing
Length:	1 day

Resources and method of delivery:	Participants receive course notes. This course is delivered using indoor and outdoor instruction.
