Name: Maintain farm safety
Description: This subject revolves around implementation and maintaining processes on a farm (or farm related enterprise) to comply with the requirements of OHS Regulations. OHS processes can be very complex and extensive but there are key things which must be addressed - even on a small enterprise.
Cost: $285
Course aims: The aim of this course is to highlight the importance of OHS on the farm and ensure that all workers and stakeholders are adequately informed about the OHS policies and procedures.
Learning outcomes:
  • Ensure that all workers and stakeholders are adequately informed about the OHS policies and procedures
  • Provide opportunity for all workers and stakeholders to have input into OHS processes by participating in risk assessment, reporting of incidents and development of procedures to reduce or eliminate risks
  • Audit the workplace and keep good records of hazards and risks, and the strategies developed to address these
  • Have an emergency response plan
  • Provide workplace induction and ongoing training to improve safety outcomes
  • Monitor workplace safety over time to ensure that standards are continously improving.
Length: Approximately 8 weeks. This includes assessment.
