Name:	Rice for profit
Description:	A course for producers who want to improve their skills in managing rice and maximising yields.
Cost:	After NSW Government subsidy, $565 incl. GST. Includes a field tour.
Course aim:	To assist rice producers improve their skills in rice management
Learning outcomes:	Develop an overview of the rice industry Describe the key steps in crop establishment Identify key seasonal management decisions Identify timing of operations
Length:	3 days
Course program/structure:	Day 1 Rice technology introduction Crop establishment Rice pests The plant Planning Day 2 Weed control Nutrition Water use and management Field trip to SunRice Precision agriculture Varieties Rice farm layout Day 3 Managing the crop from sowing to harvest Principles of Ricecheck Harvest and grain quality
Resources and method of delivery:	Participants receive a course manual and crop protection and variety guides. This course is delivered mainly indoors.
Accreditation:	This is a non-accredited course.
