Description:	This two day course is for owners of working dogs or those looking to purchase a dog who wish to train them for either general farm use or for competition.
Cost:	From $390 depening on location. Includes GST.
Course aims:	Understanding animal welfare issues Selecting & care of a working dog Training your dog to work with stock etc
Learning outcomes:	Maintain health & welfare requirements of the working dog Ability to select the appropriate dog to meet your requirements Skills and methods for training the dog to meet your needs and commands whether it be for general use and or competition Understand herding instincts and working traits

Course program/structure:	Lecture room & paddock training area Introduction Animal welfare issues Identifying needs Working breeds Paddock - working with dogs Understanding herding instincts Style, eye & balance Directional commands Casting
Resources and method of delivery:	Participants are provided with course notes. This course is delivered using indoor and outdoor instruction.
Accreditation:	This course has been mapped to the national unit of competency, AHCLSK324A - Care for and train working dogs.
