Ocean currents affect climate

The ocean currents don’t affect climate directly. Rain over the land requires winds (which are linked with pressure systems) to be blowing in the right direction to bring moisture bearing clouds over the land. However, ocean currents are extremely influential, as the effects of El Niño have shown.
