Agriculture primefact cover
Primefact Number: 1046    Edition: First edition    Released/reviewed: Aug 2010

A blue-green algal bloom is a rapid increase in the number of blue-green algae.

A bloom will usually occur in warmer months, but not always.

These organisms can carry or produce poisons harmful to livestock.

This Primefact is designed to help people manage the risk of blue-green algal poisoning in livestock watering on rivers and creeks.
