Diagnosis
Clinical signs and presence of lesions. Recovery of causal organism from semen or reproductive organs. Evidence of infection with specific pathogens, e.g. Brucella ovis, Actinobacillus seminis and Histophilus ovis.
Specimens required
- Serum sample, submitted chilled for serology.
- Semen sample collected aseptically, submitted chilled for bacteriology.
- Genital organs, including the accessory sex glands, submitted chilled for bacteriology and histopathology.
