Hypophosphataemia
Diagnosis
History, area information, clinical signs, blood or serum inorganic phosphate concentration, response to therapy.
Specimens required
- At least 2 ml of serum free from cells, submitted chilled or frozen for phosphorus estimation.
NB.
Serum phosphorus levels are of little value if the sample is haemolysed or contaminated. Do not send serum on the clot.
