Oxalate poisoning

Diagnosis

History of access to plants containing oxalate, clinical findings, hypocalcaemia, histopathology.

Specimens required

  1. Sections of liver and kidney, submitted in buffered formalin for histopathology.
  2. At least 2 ml of serum, free of haemolysis and cells, submitted chilled for calcium estimation. (See also Hypocalcaemia).
