Promoting NSW Wines
Following the success of the Fine Wines 2006 magazine, the State Government and the Sunday Telegraph have teamed up again to promote the NSW wine industry.
Minister for Primary Industries, Ian Macdonald, and News Ltd CEO, John Hartigan, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which will see the two partner organisations work together in the future.
Minister Macdonald said the intent of the MOU was to see the success of last year’s Fine Wines magazine continued in the form of another magazine in 2007.
“By teaming up with the Sunday Telegraph, we are introducing the wine industry to the newspaper’s 1.8 million readers,” Mr Macdonald said.
“This is exactly the type of exposure required the industry to continue its growth and wine sales within the State’s borders.”
Mr Macdonald said the Fine Wines magazine:
- Introduces people from all walks of life to the NSW wine industry;
- Boosts the profile of the NSW wine industry and in doing so deliver economic spin-offs for regional communities and economies;
- Promotes each of the NSW wine regions in an easy to read stylish manner;
- Acknowledges the State Government's commitment to all sections of the industry. From conducting cutting edge research through to business development and tourism; and
- Brings together the expertise of the publisher The Sunday Telegraph, the NSW Wine Industry Association, the NSW Department of Primary Industries, Tourism NSW and the Department of State and Regional Development.
