A round of six pre-season meetings has been scheduled for the end of August to advise rice growers on how to make most of the coming growing season.
NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) acting Southern Irrigated Farming Systems Leader, Kieran O’Keeffe, urged growers to attend one of the meetings.
“The meetings will provide information on how to maximise returns through good management,” he said.
“This year’s theme, ‘Do all things well to maximise returns’, will highlight the key aspects of crop management that growers need to put in place to get the best result this season.
“Topics include the latest information on varieties and a weed management update.
“Growers will also learn about the latest trial information from research agronomists at Yanco on delayed permanent water, nitrogen management and how to manage the different zones in paddocks.”
