A section of Honeysuckle Road near Tumut is being closed to the public due to a harvesting operation.
Forests NSW harvesting forester, Mark Stretch, said a Visy harvesting crew had commenced a first-thinning operation in the Kangaroo Vale section of Bucchleuch State Forest north of Tumut and haulage by Visy was due to start within a few days.
“Visy’s Haulage Safety Plan requires Forests NSW to close the steep windy section of Honeysuckle Road that comes down the escarpment while haulage takes place,” he said.
“Harvesting is predicted to take about five weeks and haulage will occur on some days during this period.
“The road is little used by the public but we want to let people know just in case they plan to use it.”
