NSW Government response to NRC weeds review

The NSW Government has announced it will adopt the majority of recommendations made by the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) following its detailed review of weed management.

The review has identified that the effectiveness of weed management in NSW is variable and that current mapping of weeds is inconsistent, making it is increasingly difficult to get a complete picture of weed density, extent and impact.

The NRC review has provided eight key recommendations, each with numerous components, to the NSW Government for consideration.

The NSW Government will oversee the implementation of significant changes following this review, in order to advance the war on weeds in NSW.

While the vast majority of the recommendations and components were supported, others will be considered using alternative approaches.
