Name:Recognising grasses
Description:The workshop has been developed to allow participants to be able to recognise common weedy, native and desirable introduced grasses within an area and understand what they may indicate about the environment and management of a site.
Cost:$330 GST free.
Course aims:To develop the skills and knowledge of participants to recognise a range of grasses using only a few features.
Learning outcomes:
  • Recognise the more common/important weedy and desirable grasses in an area
  • Show other stakeholders how to tell the good from the bad in simple language
Length:1 day
Course program/structure:
  • Understanding grass structure
  • How to recognise a range of local grass species
  • The tools to recognise grasses in the future
Resources and method of delivery:Each participant will receive a guide to grasses of the region and a list of their recognition features.  The course has indoor and outdoor components involving hands on recognition of local specimens.
