The hard work, perseverance and achievements of three of NSW’s most successful aquaculture farmers will be on show as part of a series of videos. The farmers included in the video series are:
A fourth generation oyster farmer on Sydney’s Georges River. His family business was the only Georges River oyster business to survive the devastating QX disease outbreak of 1995. Bob and his brothers singlehandedly brought about an industry recovery. Download the transcript (31 Kb, DOC).
The owner/operator of Tailor Made Fish Farms, specialising in farm grown barramundi, producing more than 1200 kilograms of barramundi a week, while the waste water is used on the farm’s hydroponic vegetable business. Download the transcript (33 Kb, DOC).
A fourth generation oyster farmer on Sydney’s iconic Hawkesbury River. He saw first hand the destruction caused by QX disease and led a team of oyster farmers to clean up the river of derelict oyster leases, and reinvent oyster farming technology to get back on their feet.
