Training for Fishcare Volunteers

Volunteers

Botany Bay volunteers viewing fish research/production facilities.

After you've nominated to be part of the program, your details will go on the database awaiting regional training. Once training schedules have been drafted, you'll be interviewed by the State Coordinator or one of the Education Officers. If you're successful, you'll attend a two-day training program.

Training includes presentations by DPI and TAFE NSW, divisions across DPI present lessons on, conservation, research, advisory and compliance. A professional will show you how to identify fish species and you'll take part in a communication skills workshop.

Everyone who completes the training program receives a certificate and competency from TAFE NSW.
